When PEA enters to systemic circulation, it is metabolized to its non-active metabolites by enzymes called FAAH (Fatty acid amide hydrolases) & NAAA (N-acylethanolamine-hydrolysing acid amidase) Inhibition of FAAH & NAAA enzymes decreases its metabolism in the body.
